We are excited to be a partner of the Dazzle Creature. This is a 20-foot container transformed into a work of art by graphic artist Edouard Schneider. Captured into a digital non-fungible token (“NFT”), this unique work of art is stored on a blockchain.

From beginning of 2024 until end of November, the Dazzle Creature will be used as a regular transport unit to as many destinations as possible. The maiden voyage was a trip to the Irish Capital Dublin. The second trip was to Philadelphia-USA..and this week it will be heading to Portugal on one of our very own vessels!

The container is equipped with a track & trace, labelled with QR codes, so that passers-by and users of the container can follow the voyage, the whereabouts of the container and the story of the cargo.

Tthe artist Eduard Schneider uses the painting technique called “Dazzle Camouflage,” which was already used during World War I. With this technique, ships were painted to look like they were going in a different direction, or to make it difficult to estimate a ship’s speed and course from a distance. In this way, enemies were deceived.

The intention of this unique project is to make logistics visible to people from outside our sector and to warm the followers of the container to our industry. End of 2024, the Dazzle Creature will be dissected into pieces to be sold at auction. One person will have the entire work of art (digitally) and in addition, private individuals and companies can acquire a small piece of the Dazzle Creature in real life.

The total revenue from the auction will be donated to the “Pakje van je Hart” charity from JOE FM, a national Belgian Radiostation. This charity ensures that families in Flanders who are having difficulty making ends meet can celebrate Christmas with a gift for every child under the tree.
