WEC Lines is pleased to announce the enhancement of its ISS service, now renamed ISS-PT.
Effective September 10th, the renewed weekly short sea service strengthens the WEC Lines network by creating a seamless connection between South Spain and Northwest Europe.
Through a strategically positioned transshipment hub in Setúbal, Portugal, the service enables efficient import and export flows between South Spain and WEC Lines’ extensive Northwest European network. The enhanced service responds to growing customer demand for reliable short sea transport while providing a sustainable alternative to long-distance road transport.
Enhanced connectivity across Europe
The renewed ISS-PT service connects the Spanish ports of Valencia, Alicante, Cartagena, Almería, Málaga, Gibraltar, Huelva and Cádiz, together with Nador in Morocco, to Setúbal and Sines in Portugal.
Via Setúbal, cargo connects seamlessly to WEC Lines’ services serving Thamesport, Liverpool, Dublin, Montoir, Antwerp, Moerdijk, Rotterdam and Hamburg, creating reliable import and export connections between South Spain and Northwest Europe.
Operated by two dedicated 868 TEU vessels in a 14-day rotation, the service offers improved schedule reliability and flexibility. A wide range of equipment is available, including 45ft High Cube Pallet Wide containers and 40ft and 45ft reefer containers for frozen and perishable cargo, making the service suitable for a broad variety of commodities.
