WEC Lines is a dynamic medium-sized maritime transport organisation specialising in container transport. With +50 years of experience, our services mainly concentrate on Belgium, Germany, Portugal, Spain (incl. the Canary Islands), the UK, Ireland, Morocco, North and East Africa and the Red Sea.
For our head office in Rotterdam, we are looking for an HR Manager.
WEC Lines is a subsidiary of the world’s largest container shipping company, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), and is undergoing rapid development. For our head office in Rotterdam (approximately 110 employees), we are looking for a pragmatic HR manager to lead the HR department and further shape our HR policy.
The role
You will manage a small team consisting of an administrative assistant and an HR reporting specialist. You will combine operational HR tasks with policy development and play a key role in further professionalising HR within the Netherlands and setting up an international HR structure.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Leading the HR team and acting as a sparring partner for the board and management
- Performing daily HR tasks such as recruitment and selection, absenteeism support, performance management and further developing the terms of employment
- Further developing and implementing a future-oriented HR policy in which HR processes and systems are optimised
- Setting up a structure in which there is more cooperation with other countries in the field of HR and in which policy from head office takes the lead where possible
- Identifying HR trends and regulations and translating these into concrete actions
What you bring
- Higher professional education (HBO) or university degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, Organisation science or similar
- Extensive experience (at least 5 years) as an HR advisor or HR business partner
- Management experience is an advantage
- Affinity with both operational and policy-related HR tasks
- Proactive, communicative, connecting and pragmatic
- Good command of both Dutch and English
