WEC Lines is a dynamic medium-sized maritime transport organisation specialising in container transport. Our services focus primarily on the United Kingdom, Portugal, Spain, the Canary Islands and North and East Africa. Our head office is located in Rotterdam. We also have offices in Hamburg, Le Havre, Antwerp, Barcelona, Nairobi and Mombasa, among others.
For our head office in Rotterdam, we are looking for an HR Business Partner.
In this role, you are the key point of contact within the department for operational HR matters. The role
You work within the HR department together with the HR Manager and two HR Employees. In this role, you are an important point of contact for employees and managers regarding daily HR operations. You are responsible for the quality and continuity of the more complex HR processes. In addition, you coordinate and independently execute the full recruitment and selection process and ensure accurate follow-up of ongoing HR procedures. You are also able to translate current and future legislation into practical HR policies.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Advising, guiding and informing employees and managers on HR-related questions
- Coordinating and independently managing the full recruitment and selection process
- Independently handling mandatory notifications, correspondence and procedures with external authorities (such as the UWV)
- Monitoring deadlines, procedures and legal timelines within complex personnel files
- Independently managing and checking more complex administrative HR processes and, in the absence of your colleague, supporting payroll administration, processing changes and answering salary-related questions from employees
- Analysing HR data and preparing periodic management reports
- Identifying and implementing improvements within HR processes
- Supporting and acting as back-up for HR Employees during periods of administrative peak workload
What you bring
- Completed HBO degree, preferably in HRM
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of recent experience in an operational or generalist HR role
- You are communicative, discreet, accurate, reliable and have a strong sense of responsibility and professional awareness
- Excellent command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken
- Up-to-date knowledge of labour laws and regulations
- Experience with HR information systems and good Excel skills
