WEC Lines is a dynamic medium-sized maritime transport organisation specialising in container transport. With +50 years of experience, our services mainly concentrate on Belgium, Germany, England, Portugal, Spain (incl. the Canary Islands), Morocco, North and East Africa and the Red Sea. Our head office is in Rotterdam and we also have branches in e.g. Hamburg, Felixstowe, Antwerp, Barcelona, Nairobi and Mombasa.

Due to expansion of our HR department in Rotterdam (NL), we are looking for a: HR Assistant (24 hours).

Job description

In this position, you will ensure that the HR administration is taken care of down to the last detail. Are you meticulous and do you like order and structure? Do you enjoy answering questions from employees? Does it challenge you to improve administrative processes and digitise them wherever possible? Then this position could be for you!

You will work in the HR department, together with the HR manager. In this role, you are the first point of contact for employees and responsible for HR administration. You take care of the administrative handling of the inflow and outflow process and ensure smooth onboarding and offboarding. You will process staff mutations, draw up contracts, take care of correspondence and provide administrative support to the HR manager.

Tasks

  • Taking care of the entire in- and outflow administration
  • Administration of various leave arrangements (parenthood/pregnancy/sickness etc.)
  • Providing management reports
  • Absenteeism registration and follow-up
  • Processing mutations and preparing payroll processing
  • Support with recruitment and selection
  • Acting as a point of contact for employees
  • Providing other support and administration for the HR department

Profile

  • A completed MBO 4 education or equivalent level (HAVO/VWO)
  • At least 2 years of recent experience with HR administration
  • You are communicative, honest, meticulous, alert, proactive and solution-oriented
  • You are comfortable with Excel and preferably have knowledge of Youforce
  • Excellent command of the Dutch language, both verbally and in writing
