Capacity Management Coordinator (fulltime)

WEC Lines is a dynamic medium-sized maritime transport organisation specialising in container transport. With +50 years of experience, our services mainly concentrate on Belgium, Germany, Portugal, Spain (incl. the Canary Islands), the UK, Ireland, Morocco, North and East Africa and the Red Sea.

For our head office in Rotterdam, we are looking for a Capacity Management Coordinator.

WEC Lines is a subsidiary of the world’s largest container shipping company, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), and is undergoing rapid development. The capacity management department is actively involved in this and is looking for a capacity management coordinator.

The role

As Capacity Management Coordinator, you will optimise ship occupancy and ensure smooth cargo flows within our shipping network. In this central role, you will be the link between Operations, commercial teams, agents and external partners, making real-time decisions that ensure our ships are loaded efficiently and our customers remain satisfied.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Monitoring and managing fleet occupancy
  • Analysing occupancy and volumes to identify trends and opportunities
  • Resolving problems by implementing ad hoc adjustments to the sailing schedule
  • Clearly communicating changes, actions and rationale to all stakeholders
  • Maintaining direct contact with external stakeholders for additional capacity or commercial opportunities
  • Contributing strategic insights to optimise network performance

What you bring

  • Higher professional education (HBO) level of working and thinking.
  • Experience in the shipping/maritime sector.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel).
  • Good command of Dutch and English.
  • Strong communication skills, confident in liaising with various stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical, assertive and decisive.
