At the head office in Rotterdam, we are looking for an Assistant Controller (full-time). The Finance Department is looking for an enthusiastic and secure colleague with a good team spirit.

WEC Lines is a medium-sized maritime logistics service provider specialising in the transport of containers by sea, both short sea and deep sea. Our services mainly focus on England, Portugal, Spain, Canary Islands, North & East Africa.

Job description

In this versatile and independent position, you will work together in a nice team and support the Financial Accountant. You will deal with the administrations of our own vessels as well as the Dutch, English, Belgian, German and Kenyan branches. Activities include:

  • Participating in periodic monthly closures as well as compiling the corresponding files and reports.
  • Performing checks on reservations.
  • Critically assessing the figures to be reported.
  • Preparation of various financial reports.
  • Managing and performing the administration of our 11 own vessels.
  • Drafting and critically assessing monthly financial reports of our own vessels.
  • Participate in Executing and critically assessing VAT and ICP declarations of our own vessels.
  • Solving financial issues.
  • Performing various financial audits and reconciliations.
  • Taking part in carrying out and critically evaluating various CBS surveys.
  • Daily processing of financial mutations.
  • Furthermore, you carry out varying ad hoc activities.

At WEC Lines, we use our in-house financial systems FIS2000, SpendCloud, Odyssey, ThinkWise and Excel.

Profile

  • You have a completed financial MBO+ or HBO education with several years of work experience in a financial department.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Good command of the Dutch and English languages, both verbally and in writing.
  • You have a high degree of responsibility to meet deadlines.
  • Precise, accurate, flexible, solution-oriented, stress-resistant and proactive are characteristics that suit you well.
