WEC Lines announced today that it has achieved a Silver Medal from EcoVadis, the global standard for business sustainability ratings.
The EcoVadis assessment evaluates 21 sustainability criteria across four core themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. Their ratings are based on international sustainability standards such as the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, the International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and the ISO 26000 standard. The ratings provide an evidenced-based analysis on performance and an actionable roadmap for continuous improvement.
“We are proud that EcoVadis has awarded us a silver medal. It is a big step for our company; however, it is not yet time to rest on our laurels,” says Caesar Luikenaar, Managing Director of WEC Lines. “We are only halfway on our journey towards being a fully sustainable organisation. This medal supports our commitment to not only providing sustainable transport solutions, but improving our sustainable performance in everything we do”.
We would like to thank the team involved for their hard work at making this achievement possible; those being: Esther Vermeulen, René Overkleeft, Elisa Dellebeke, Thijs Theunissen, Jouke Wagenmakers, Brian Vaz and Dimitra Lynch.
